From my experience and research, it can take 10-12 sessions for your hair growth to be slowed down enough that you appear mostly hairless. Each session lasts 10-15 minutes per area, so even if you are doing multiple areas per appointment - most of the time you'll be done in less than an hour.
Another common misconception about laser hair removal is that it is permanent and once you are done with your sessions, you are done. However, you may need to do touchups every few years to keep your hair from coming back. This was something I didn't know, so I'm glad my technician let me know that information.

Even before stepping into the clinic, they sent me clear instructions on how to prepare for my session over email. After the appointment, I received detailed aftercare guidelines too. It's important to check with your provider for any specific instructions that may relate to their type of laser, but at Elevate Miami I was asked to shave the area being treated the day before my appointment and to not use any products the day of my appointment. For me, I didn’t experience any significant pain—just some light plucking sensations here and there. However, I have friends who did find it painful. Your technician will check in with you on your pain level, so be honest and they will adjust if needed.
Laser Hair Removal Costs in Miami
Laser hair removal costs can range dramatically based on the laser, the treatment area, and more. Online you'll see quotes from $150 (for one session on a small area) to upwards of $600 a session. And remember, you may need between 10 and 12 sessions for complete treatment in each area.
Thankfully, most providers offer payment plans, and you can also find deals on platforms like Groupon to help manage costs.
Personally, I use ClassPass to budget for wellness treatments, including laser hair removal. With ClassPass, I pay around $85 per area, which is a significant savings. My technician at Elevate Miami charges by the area, so I pay separately for my underarms, legs, and now my bikini area.
How Laser Hair Removal Works
Laser hair removal works by targeting the pigment in your hair follicles with concentrated beams of light. These beams damage the follicles to reduce hair growth over time. While laser hair removal can significantly reduce hair growth, no provider can guarantee 100% permanent hair removal, which is why occasional maintenance may be necessary.
